This is a project in Brian Switek’s DonorsChoose Blogger Challenge, and if it doesn’t find full funding by the end of today, it’s not going to happen.
Throw Us a Bone!! was proposed by Ms. P., who teaches in a high poverty high school in a rural community in south Mississippi:
This year will be my first year to teach Anatomy and Physiology. I will be walking into the classroom with virtually no resources to help bring the words and pictures from the pages of the textbook to life for these students.
My students need hands on materials to help bring the unseen processes that go on in our bodies to life. Skeletons and other three-dimensional models can help students to see the previously unseen.
You can help awaken the next great doctor, nurse or scientific researcher by allowing these students to become engrossed in the Anatomy and Physiology of their own bodies.
The project still needs $699. If you had to come up with that much yourself, it would seem like a lot. But if twenty people stepped up to help fund this, each of them would only have to scrape up $35 to make this project happen.
So, if you want to help a teacher bring anatomy and physiology alive for some high school kids in Mississippi, give what you can and then tell your friends. It’s a good bet some of them might care about science and education, too.
And don’t forget that your donation will let you enter the drawing for fabulous prizes from Seed!
